Concept sketches began with a few specific elements that I wanted to emphasize in the shape of the bottle. An impressively tall sillhouette with cutaways similar to a distillation tube a scientist might use in a lab. I also took inspiration from Japanese rumune soda bottles, which house a marble in the neck of the bottle. A flaired neck with a sphere at the center would pay homage to the gravitational pull of a star. The solid steel ball in the neck of the bottle would eventually be swapped for a simpler and more obvious wax seal atop the label. Two different approaches for the high tier bottle, both emphasizing a sense of height and fluctuation. Ultimately, the shape of Prototype A (left) would be used as the final shape of the bottle. The triumphant and unbroken body of the bottle better achieved a sense of height. However, many of the linear graphic elements from Prototype B (right) would find their way into the final design.
